Site Description: The Sheridan site is located about 45 miles SW of Portland, Oregon. Last year OregonRocketry was granted an FAA waiver to launch to 4500’ AGL. We anticipate being granted a waiver for the September launch. Lodging is available nearby McMinnville. Toilet facilities and unimproved camping are available onsite.

Directions to Sheridan Launch Site:

1.

From Hwy 99 West-Bound into Mcminnville, turn onto Hwy 18

2.

About 10 minutes outside of McMinnville, there should be a “geological marker” large wooden sign on right side, there are signs about 500 feet before it.

3.

Continue 3.3 miles from the marker to a left turn on Christensen Road. There will be a sweeping right turn, and Christensen Road is on the far left side of road, there is a sign that says “gun shop 3.4” If you pass a Dairy Queen, you’ve gone too far.

4.

Follow Christensen for .8 miles, make a right turn onto SW Dejong Rd.

5.

Stay on SW Dejong for 2.4 miles, should reach the town of Ballston and a stop sign. Continue going straight.

6.

SW Dejong turns to gravel outside of the town. Make a right onto Ball rd, and another left on Dejong Rd. Turn left onto West Perrydale Rd.

7.

You should be approaching a large grove of trees, and 2 large silos. Please look for flight line and signs as launch site varies each year slightly.

8.

Please follow signs or directions, be gracious, and don't speed, this is someone else’s land.

Alternate Directions: Alternate route to the launch site

1.

From Mcminnville go south on Hwy 99, 4 miles south of Amity turn west (right) at the "blinking yellow light" onto Bethel rd. From South of launch site, take 99 north from Hwy22 then at the "blinking yellow light", turn west (left) on Bethel rd

2.

Turn right, 5 miles to go,follow the road past Perrydale School, straight out of town; when the roadturns to gravel you have about 1/2 mile to go.

3.

Look for signs near the grain elevator on the right.

4.
